Gold Rush F1 is a standout yellow courgette, forming compact, non‑vining bush plants that fit well into smaller gardens, raised beds and polytunnels. The fruits are straight, cylindrical and waxy golden‑yellow with very fine ribbing, typically 15–20 cm long, with pale, creamy, tender flesh.
An early, prolific variety, it produces continuously through summer if picked regularly, giving a steady supply of colourful courgettes for grilling, roasting, stir‑fries and raw salads. The bright yellow skin looks striking on the plant and on the plate, making this a favourite for mixed courgette plantings and summer barbecues.

Growing information

🌱 Sowing

  • Sow indoors from April in pots or modules and plant out after the last frost, or sow direct outdoors once the soil is warm.

  • Use rich, fertile soil and avoid disturbing roots too much when transplanting.

☀️ Light

  • Needs full sun for best yields, flavour and strong colour.

💧 Watering

  • Water generously and regularly, especially during flowering and fruit swelling, keeping soil moist but not waterlogged.

  • Mulch around plants to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

🌡️ Germination

  • Germinates quickly in warmth, usually in 7–10 days at 18–24 °C.

📏 Spacing & size

  • Compact, bushy plants; allow roughly 60–80 cm between plants so leaves and fruits have space.

  • Each plant occupies about 4 square feet yet can yield as many fruits as larger summer squash types.

Bullet Technical Data

Tips & Tricks

  • Harvest fruits young and often to keep the plant producing and to enjoy the most tender texture and best flavour.

  • Combine with green courgettes in plantings and recipes for a colour mix that looks great in stir‑fries, salads and on the grill.

  • Watch for powdery mildew late in the season; good spacing and watering at the base rather than overhead help keep foliage looking better for longer.
