Margherita Carinatum Mix (Chrysanthemum carinatum / tricolor type) is a giant, multicoloured daisy that brings bold, cheerful colour to the garden with rings of contrasting shades around a dark centre. Plants are perennial and reach about 70 cm in height, branching freely and carrying a large number of long‑stemmed blooms through the season. This variety is notably resistant to low temperatures and copes well with cooler climates, making it a reliable choice for northern gardens as well as milder regions. It works beautifully in mixed borders, larger containers and as a cut flower for informal bouquets.

Growing information

ðŸŒąÂ Sowing

  • Sow in trays or pots, or direct in the open ground; seeds can be sown in spring and again in late summer or autumn depending on climate.

  • In Ireland‑type conditions, sow under cover from March–April or outdoors from April–June for summer flowers; an early autumn sowing can overwinter plants for earlier blooms next year in mild areas.

☀ïļÂ Light

  • Prefers full sun, which encourages sturdy plants and abundant flowering.

💧 Watering

  • Water regularly while plants establish and in dry spells, but ensure soil is well drained; avoid waterlogging.

ðŸŒĄïļÂ Germination

  • Germinates in typical cool–mild spring temperatures; expect seedlings in around 10–20 days depending on temperature.

📏 Spacing & size

  • Thin or plant out to allow roughly 25–30 cm between plants so they can branch and carry lots of flowers.

  • Mature height is about 70 cm, with a bushy, upright habit.
