Cauliflower ‘Of Verona Precoce’ is a prized early heritage variety from Verona, forming large, dense, cream-coloured heads. Ready for harvest from November through January (approximately 80 days to maturity), it is an excellent choice for extending the fresh vegetable season into winter. Its mild, nutty flavour is perfect for roasting, curries, or as a classic side. This packet contains approximately 800 seeds.

Tips & Tricks
For the best heads, ensure soil is rich and firm. Water regularly to prevent “buttoning” (small heads). To blanch the head and keep it white, tie the outer leaves over the curd when it’s about the size of a golf ball. Excellent companion for beans and lettuce.

Garden-to-Table Recipe
Cauliflower Thimi Tarkari Masala (Nepali Cauliflower Curry)

  • 1 medium cauliflower, cut into florets

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tomatoes, chopped

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 2 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp chilli powder (to taste)

  • 200ml water or vegetable stock

  • Fresh coriander, oil, salt

  1. Heat oil, fry cumin seeds until fragrant. Add onion, ginger, garlic, and fry until soft.

  2. Add spices and tomatoes, cook until tomatoes break down.

  3. Add cauliflower florets and water/stock. Stir well.

  4. Cover and simmer for 15-20 mins until cauliflower is tender.

  5. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with rice or flatbread.
    A flavourful, warming winter dish.
